IAED's Charter

The main focus of IAED's Charter is on intelligent charitable projects in countries with the greatest needs through sustainable economic development. There is tremendous imbalance and needless suffering in the world. A growing hatred and misunderstanding of "globalization" and the "new world order" and the transformation taking place worldwide. IAED's goals are to work on improving the lives of as many people has we can through intelligent charitable projects.

IAED's Charter is unique, in that it was established from within the United Nations by its founder Dr. Larry T. Gell with the help of some United Nations officers in 1990 and formally registered in 1994. Most NGOs are formed outside the UN System for their own objectives and then try to affiliate with the UN. IAED was designed to be in total sync with the United Nations Goals, Programs and Plans from the very beginning. IAED is in total agreement with the "Spirit of the Charter" of the United Nations, its Purposes and Principles. And we totally support its existence and further expansion and effective re-organization structure issues.

Any activity which IAED is involved with, can be traced back to a United Nations activity or focus. We have no "formal status relationship" with the UN since the summer of 1999, Nor do we want one.

IAED believes that the United Nations System is the best (and proven) method, during this period of massive economic consolidation and globalization (the "New World Economic Order"), to provide a balanced and fair monitoring international platform for worldwide development. As the WTO, World Bank, IMF, Transnational Corporations, and other international financial/legal mechanisms gain the upper hand, the UN could serve as a system of "checks and balances" to avoid "gaps" widening between rich and poor people, even middle class and countries.

IAED's Charter is tied directly to the United Nations Charter and upholds the visions of the United Nations Charter. It is committed to the principles and goals of the United Nations. IAED recognizes the significant contributions of the United Nations (since its founding in 1945) to global peace and security which laid the foundation and framework (safety net) for the globalization process to develop. All activities conducted by IAED must be in coordination with the United Nations. The focus of IAED is on socially responsible economic development of the Least Developed, Developing Countries, Developed countries where there exists poverty and under-development. IAED charitable contributions which are essential to the "social safety net" and stabilization. Economic development is inseparable from "good governance" (as defined by the UNDP) which includes a safe and secure society with the stable infrastructures necessary for economic development. Therefore, IAED is interested in all the issues and activities of the complete United Nations System.
